They are DWELLERS.
What I mean by that is that they look at the worst possible scenario, and they will dwell on it for DAYS... They will worry about the weather and not make plans because it might rain. If something bad happens, they will tell EVERYONE about it, including people who have no ties to or interest in the situation. They'll read the newspaper or watch the news at night and then repeat ALL of the stories about shootings, accidents, war torn countries, scandals, court proceedings for crooked politicians, etc. They never once repeat the GOOD stories (not that there are very many anyway).
My stepmom hates the fact that I don't read the newspaper or watch the news. I get all my major news coverage from the internet. She hates it because she feels like I take the "ignorance is bliss" approach. I really don't. I just don't feel like I need to spend my life dwelling on the terrible things going on in the world. Can I DO anything about the majority of those terrible things? No. So why should I spend my valuable time on Earth worrying and dwelling on the fact that some guy I've never met and had nothing to do with my life (or that of anyone I know) committed a crime?
Why not focus on the things in life that BRIGHTEN your day rather than darkening it?
So what about you? Are you a dweller?
