At the beginning of the year I posted about trying out the 101 Things in 1001 Days Challenge. It was hell on wheels coming up with a list of 101 things, but I did it, and I've been steadily making progress on the list, though I've been a total slacker on writing posts about the different tasks I've completed.
I'm now 170 days into this project, and, surprisingly enough, I have completed 25% of the items on my list. I know, look how bad ass I am, right? RIGHT? Unfortunately, that stat is a bit misleading, as most of the things on the list that have been completed have been relatively easy, such as "attend a Twins game at Target Field", "get a library card", and "play mini golf" (which I did today with my dad). He doesn't read this, but HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DAD!
One of the more notable things, however, is the recently completed, "Find a Job"! Very, VERY exciting news here in these parts! I'll be starting my new position on June 28th and am really looking forward to getting back to having a little more of that thing we call income and the ability to actually go out and do stuff, rather than sitting at home on my ass like a slug because I can't afford to DO ANYTHING. Very much looking forward to that, indeed.
I have to say that I don't feel like this project is helping me fulfill any kind of lifelong goals or anything yet, simply because I haven't taken on some of the more trying tasks or completed any of the more difficult challenges. I haven't gone on any of the trips I'd like to go on or even started planning them, mainly due to the fact that I was unemployed until very recently and haven't had the funds to plan trips. I'm hoping to get a houseboat trip AND a white water rafting trip in the works for next year (this summer is too short notice with the new job just starting and everything).
I'm looking forward to tackling some more of these tasks, preferably completing another 25% in the next 170 days. That gives me until around Christmas and would leave me with still almost 2 years to work on the remaining 50% of the list, which I'm assuming will be the more difficult time or money intensive tasks. I don't know how realistic that is, considering the level of tasks still available to me to complete before Christmas, but wish me luck!
